Belinda Street, Gerringong, NSW

The NSW Government spent $329 million to upgrade a 7.5km section of the Princes Highway between New Mount Pleasant Road and Tooligooa Road on the South Coast of NSW. The upgrade will improve road safety and traffic efficiency by providing two lanes in each direction and two new interchanges, improving access to Gerringong and Gerroa. The interchange at Belinda Street provides flood free access to Gerringong.

Project Design Brief

Traffic is now able to travel under the new twin overpasses at Belinda Street, although the high carriageways have the potential to cause drainage issues further along Belinda Street, under the railway bridge. Designers needed a drainage solution that would quickly capture the increased flows from the newly created sag point.

ACO's Solution

  • KerbDrain QK100
  • ACO Technical Service Department assisted designers with hydraulic performance data of the KerbDrain QK100 system

Benefits

  • The KerbDrain QK100 profile is compatible with the existing standard barrier kerb profile
  • Access units positioned along the drainage runs ensure easy access for rodding during maintenance
